OSC Holds Consultation with Bangsamoro Settler Women from Northern Kabuntalan

In celebration of National Women’s Month, the Office for Settler Communities (OSC) conducted a Consultation and Dialogue with Bangsamoro Settler Women to discuss their roles in society and address community concerns. The event was held on March 26, 2025, at Ace Resto, Midsayap, Cotabato, gathering participants from the Municipality of Northern Kabuntalan, particularly from Barangays Paulino Labio, Gayonga, and Damatog.

This initiative was led by OSC Executive Director MP Dr. Susana Salvador Anayatin of the BTA, reinforcing her commitment to supporting settler communities and advancing women's participation in governance and development.

The OSC team, led by Technical Division Chief- Atty. Edwin Matura, along with Community Development Officers Jomarie Palmares, Gerald Derama, and Jona Biñas, facilitated the event. The consultation and dialogue served as a venue for settler women to voice their concerns as a minority sector in the BARMM region, allowing them to actively participate in discussions on social and economic empowerment.

Resource speakers Lady Nor Arsad, Community Development Assistant, and Datu King Tua, Community Affairs Assistant, from the Bangsamoro Women’s Commission (BWC) shared valuable insights on the role of women in society, emphasizing their contributions to community development, governance, and economic growth.

The activity provided a meaningful platform for settler women to engage in discussions, express their concerns, and be part of efforts to enhance their welfare and opportunities in the Bangsamoro region.
