Water, Sanitation Project Turned Over to Notre Dame of Bongao, Tawi-Tawi Through TDIF Funding


The Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) project at Notre Dame of Bongao, Tawi-Tawi, showcasing both exterior and interior facilities, with representatives from NDB, the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA), the Office for Settler Communities (OSC), MBHTE, and the Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU) present during the turnover.

Bongao, Tawi-Tawi | April 11, 2025 — A turnover ceremony was held at Notre Dame of Bongao in Barangay Poblacion, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi, marking the completion of a Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) project with a functional water source. The initiative was funded under the 2022 Transitional Development Impact Fund (TDIF) of Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Member of Parliament Dr. Susana Salvador-Anayatin, who also serves as the Executive Director of the Office for  Settler Communities.

The project was implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE) and the Office for Settler Communities (OSC).

MP Anayatin’s office was represented during the ceremony by TDIF Focal Person Dr. Enrique Sonsona Oliveros Jr. Political Affairs Officer, while Community Development Officer Sawadjaan J. Manulon stood in for the OSC. Also present were monitoring officials, including Engr. Indal Abdulkata from the MBHTE Provincial Office in Tawi-Tawi, along with representatives from local government units (BLGUs). Notre Dame of Bongao Principal Sr. Imelda B. Mission, OND, formally accepted the project on behalf of the school.

The WASH intervention aims to provide safe water access and promote improved hygiene for the benefit of students and staff.
