Office for Settler Communities (OSC) Executive Director MP Dr. Susana Salvador Anayatin joined fellow newly appointed Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Members of Parliament in taking their oath before President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. at Malacañan Palace on March 24, 2025. The event was followed by the Grand Iftar, marking the observance of the holy month of Ramadan and underscoring the national government’s solidarity with the Bangsamoro people.

President Marcos reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to peace and development in the Bangsamoro region, emphasizing the importance of continued cooperation between the Bangsamoro Government and the National Government in the lead-up to the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Parliamentary Election (BPE) in October 2025.

The event also saw the presence of new Interim Chief Minister Abdulraof A. Macacua, who recently assumed leadership of the Bangsamoro Government. In his speech, Macacua emphasized his dedication to continuing the progress initiated by former Interim Chief Minister Ahod B. Ebrahim and ensuring stability and development in the region. Other key BARMM officials were also in attendance. The symbolic Iftar gathering highlighted the strengthening partnership for sustained peace and progress in Mindanao.

For MP Dr. Anayatin, this event reinforced her commitment to representing and advancing the interests of settler communities in the BARMM Parliament, ensuring that their voices are heard in policymaking and governance.

The OSC remains dedicated to promoting inclusive growth, unity, and meaningful participation of Bangsamoro settlers in the evolving political landscape of the region.
