BARMM Supports Orphans & Small Businesses in DOS
Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte | March 26, 2025 – Fourteen (14) orphan learners and four (4) indigent families in Datu Odin Sinsuat received much-needed financial assistance today through the Kupkop Program and Bangsamoro Sagip Kabuhayan (BSK) Program of the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD). This initiative was funded by the Transitional Development Impact Fund (TDIF) 2023 of MP Dr. Susana Salvador-Anaytin.
Under the Kupkop Program, each of the 14 orphan learners received P5,000 to help with their education. Meanwhile, the BSK Program granted P15,000 each to four indigent families—some of whom will use it as startup capital for their small business, while others who already have existing businesses will use the aid to expand and sustain their livelihood.
This effort was made possible through the partnership between the BTA Office of MP Dr. Susana Salvador-Anaytin, the Office for Settler Communities (OSC)—where Dr. Anaytin serves as Executive Director—and the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD), led by Deputy Floor Leader Minister MP Atty. Raissa H. Jajurie.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Anaytin shared her own experience of being orphaned as a student and working hard to finish school with her siblings.
"These students are lucky to have government programs like this. They must strive to achieve a better life through education. The BARMM government is here to support students and those who want to start or grow their businesses but lack the capital," she emphasized.
Through strong coordination with BARMM’s ministries, the Office for Settler Communities continues to ensure that education and livelihood support reach settler communities in need.
